Explore the Derinkuyu Underground City On the Cappadocia Green tour excursion, our first stop will be Derinkuyu Underground City, which includes its schools, monasteries, a complex system containing ventilation, and access to clean water even at 18 floors deep. In Derinkuyu Underground City, the multi-floored town could accommodate up to 20.000 people, something considered impressive even on the surface back then. Derinkuyu Underground City, was constructed in the Hittite period, and it hosted many empires during history. With our professional guides, you will have adventure-filled moments in this underground city by passing through a narrow gate. Ihlara Valley Our next stop on the Cappadocia Green Tour is Ihlara Valley. It was home to some of the first settlements of Christianity as a community in ancient times. Ihlara Canyon is approximately 14 kilometers (8700 miles) long and 100 meters (328 feet) deep. And during the route, you can see various villages, churches throughout the colorful valley. The valley's surface has dozens of different religious carvings, made by the believers and starting from the 7th century. Many of these structures display unique scenes from the Bible, covered with gorgeous frescos. Ihlara Valley has an incredible view, amazing history, and vivid nature. These features make here one of the most famous hiking attractions in the country. We will walk for 4 kilometers (2.5 miles) through the canyon accompanied by the Melendiz River. With colorful plants and trees surrounding your path, the exciting sound of the river, and a clear sky above you, all you have to do is enjoy your trip. After our hike, we will eat a delicious and traditional Turkish lunch near the Melendiz River. Selime Monastery After our lunch, we will head to the road again to visit our next stop. Selime Monastery will welcome us with all its glory. The monastery was built in the 13th century and is still known as the largest religious building in the area. Because of the structure and architecture of the tower, Selime Monastery should be on your must-see places during your Cappadocia tour. The cathedral in the monastery is decorated with incredible religious paintings and has its living areas, kitchens, stores, a stable, and a missionary school. The Selime Monastery could accommodate up to 5000 people, and even after hundreds of years, it achieved to preserve its beauty. Pigeon Valley After exploring this wonderful and holy site, we will drive to the Pigeon Valley, which has the city's best landscape. As soon as you arrive at the Pigeon Valley, you will understand that almost all of the best photos of Cappadocia are taken from here. Goreme Our last stop on our Cappadocia Green Tour is the very famous point, Goreme, home to dozens of fairy chimneys. While you are walking through the fairy chimneys, you will enjoy the colorful sky and unique fairy chimneys, harmonized with great nature escorting the rock formations. Finally, our tour will end with dropping you off back at your resort.
